While there are several guidelines prescribed by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan for a smooth and fair admission process, there are a few important pointers that you shouldn’t miss.The eligible age for admission in Class 1 in Kendriya Vidyalaya is 5 to 7 years. The child must be at least 5 years old as on 31st March 2021 for Class 1. The maximum age for Class 1 is 7 years as on 31st March 2021.
The admission for Class 1 in KVs is prioritized in the following manner.
• Children of Central government employees and ex-servicemen are given the first priority.
• Children of employees of Public Sector Undertaking, Autonomous bodies, Institute of Higher Learning, Government of India.
• Children of the State Government employees.
Caste reservations in admission are as follows. 15% seats for Scheduled Caste, 7.5% seats for Scheduled Tribes and 27% seats for Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL).
In case seats remain vacant after 30 June 2021, Deputy Commissioner of the Region is empowered to allow admissions up to the prescribed strength as per priorities in admission up to 31st July.
